The second ODI between India and Australia will be played without the India’s premier bowler, Jasprit Bumrah.

It looks like Jasprit Bumrah won’t play in the second ODI against Australia. He did not go to Indore with the group.

The team management granted the quick bowler a brief respite while he was away visiting his family.

For the second ODI, Mukesh Kumar has entered the squad to take Bumrah’s spot. Earlier this year, Mukesh played against the West Indies in his first ODI.

The sole change from the previous ODI for the hosts is Prasidh Krishna, who has secured a spot in the India XI.

Australia also made a few changes to their starting lineup, with Steve Smith replacing the rested Pat Cummins as captain. With Spencer Johnson making his ODI debut for the team, the visitors also have a debutant in their camp.

India (Playing XI): Shubman Gill, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (wk & c), Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Shami, Prasidh Krishna.

Australia (Playing XI): David Warner, Matthew Short, Steven Smith (c), Marnus Labuschagne, Josh Inglis, Alex Carey (wk), Cameron Green, Sean Abbott, Adam Zampa, Josh Hazlewood, Spencer Johnson.

When India visited Ireland for a three-match bilateral T20I series last month, Bumrah made his return from injury after nearly a year away from the sport. The bowler has taken five ODI wickets at 22.8 and four T20I wickets at 9.75 since his return.

In the three-match ODI series, India is ahead 1-0. By a margin of five wickets, they defeated Australia in the opening ODI in Mohali.
