Asia Cup record was set by Pakistan’s speed trio, who took all 10 India wickets, before weather called off a promising match.

The Asia Cup’s India-Pakistan group match was cancelled as a result of the rain. However, the game had already seen a lot of outstanding individual performances.

This was the first Asia Cup ODI game in which pacers claimed all 10 wickets in an innings.

Rohit Sharma chose to bat first after winning the toss, but India struggled in the cloudy conditions. They were also impacted by the contest’s start-stop character, with rain continuously interfering.

Pakistan’s pace battery, which was performing at its imperial best, made things much more difficult. In the fifth over, Rohit Sharma’s stumps were smashed by a ball that Shaheen Shah Afridi managed to nip and crash into them.

Virat Kohli, India’s star batsman, was caught hacking onto his stumps in his very next delivery.

Shaheen and Haris Rauf together shook India’s middle order.  After bowling well all day, Naseem Shah came back to put up the heat in the final few overs.

Shaheen finished with 4/35, Rauf took 3/58, while Naseem had 3/36.

This builds on their recent stellar performance and bodes well for the Men in Green heading into the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.

The 138-run fifth-wicket stand between Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya was the high point for India. This was India’s highest fifth-wicket ODI partnership against Pakistan.

Particularly impressive was Kishan, who was batting in his regular top-order position. After losing Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Shreyas Iyer, his side was in trouble by the time he entered the field in the tenth over.
