Vice-captain Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 58 off 43 while Sanju Samson scored 40 off 26. For Ireland, Barry McCarthy had two wickets for 36 runs.

Ireland’s skipper Paul Stirling was lost for a duck as a response. Lorcan Tucker, the third batter, failed to open his account as well, becoming Prasidh Krishna’s second victim. George Dockrell, Curtis Campher, and Harry Tector all came up empty-handed.
